PEACH


Excellent background colour as it conveys warmth, humanity an healthiness,

It reaches out to people and indicate quality.


BROWN


Does not raise strong emotions in people therefore it is safe, secure and comfortable.

It can be associated with Autumn which can be gloomy or depressing , or bright and colourful. Depends which way you look at it.


ORANGE


Has a high arousal factor - but not taken too seriously.

Happy and playful, but can also be loud and vulgar.


PURPLE


Flamboyant, but can also be funereal. Has royal connotations.

Should never be used with black - even in low percentages.


WHITE


Fresh, light, cool, because it has the ability to reflect light.

A symbol of purity.

Is also a symbol of mourning in some cultures, e.g. China.

BLACK


Exact opposite of white. The ability to absorb light gives it sinister undertones.

It can be magical, mysterious, sophisticated, powerful, elegant, and expensive.

To many people it can mean death.


It is, however, the most legible and readable colour for ink on newsprint.
